Q.) Where about in Cape Town is the Ashanti Lodge Green Point?
Ashanti Lodge Green Point is situated in the trendy neighborhood of Green Point, which is just a 15 minutes walk past the stadium to the City Centre.

Q.) What are your rates?

Q.) Do the rates include breakfast?
These rates do not include breakfast.

Q.) Do you serve breakfast and how much is that?
Yes, we serve breakfast from 07:30. Prices range from R8.50 for croissants and jam up to R29 for a full cooked breakfast.

Q.) How can I make a room reservation?
You can make a room reservation here or email us directly to info@ashanti.co.za

Q.) Do you offer a pick up service from the airport?
We offer a pick-up service from Cape Town airport between 08h30 and 15h30 which is subject to availability and we request that you call us from the airport (021 423 8721) after your plane has landed and we will be there in 20 minutes if the driver is available immediately. We charge R70 for this service. Should you be arriving outside of these hours you can take a shuttle bus from the airport or else we can arrange a meet-and greet service for you. Prices vary so please contact us for details. Also, please ensure you inform us in advance if you are arriving after 6pm to ensure that your room is held.

Q.) How many beds are in your dorms?
We have 6 bed and 8 bed room dormitories. There is a 6 to 1 bed to shower ratio and the dorm rooms all have private lockers under the beds..

Q.) Do I have to bring my own bed linen?
All the rooms are fully made up with duvets – including the dorm beds. We have towels for hire but I would suggest you bring along your own.

Q.) Where are the en-suite rooms?
We have 2 en-suite rooms in the main building.

Q.) Can I book tours and adventure stuff with you?
Check out our website on www.ashanti.co.za or wait until you arrive and chat to reception!

Q.) Do you have barbeque facilities?
Yes we do have barbeque facilities.

Q.) Do you have a swimming pool?
Yes we have a swimming pool at the back of the hostel.

Q.) Do you have a kitchen where I can prepare my own food?
Yes, we have a recently renovated communal kitchen that is fully equipped. You can also store your food in our cupboards or in the big fridge.

Q.) Do you have IMon March 9, 2009--> -->. There is also a public telephone for easy international calls. You are also able to send and receive faxes here. We now also have Wi-Fi access for those with their own laptop.

Q.) Do you have washing facilities?
We do have washing facilities for hand washing clothes in the Lodge but we also offer a laundry service. You leave your dirty luggage with us and you get it back the next day. Everything up to 5 kg costs R30.

Q.) Do you exchange money?
Yes we do exchange money and traveler’s cheques. There is no commission for cash and a small fee for traveller’s cheques.

Q.) Can I leave my luggage with you if going on overnight tours?
We offer a luggage storage that you may use during your travelling. We charge you R5.00 per unit per day.

Q.) Do you serve meals in the Ashanti Lodge?
We only serve breakfast at the moment, but it IS yummy! We also serve drinks and cocktails in our bar!

Q.) Do you have a pool table?
No, sorry.

Q.) Do you have your own parking facilities?
Yes, you can park you car in front of our lodge. We have a security guard during the night who patrols the road.

Q.) What are en-suite rooms?
En-suite rooms are rooms with their own bathroom shower and toilet.

Q.) Is it safe to walk into town?
It is safe to walk at daytime. Better don’t walk alone and leave all your valuables in our safe.

Q.) How close are shops and restaurants?
The closest supermarket is a three minutes walk away. There are also many restaurants a 5 minutes walk from here.

Q.) Is it possible to walk to the V&A Waterfront?
Yes you can walk to the Waterfront, but it will take between about half an hour. If you don‘t want to walk you can take a Rikki Taxi or a regular taxi to get there.

Q.) How far are the beaches?
Cape Town’s most famous beaches, Clifton beach and Camps Bay, are within walking distance for the keen hiker. For the rest of us a Rikki or regular taxi takes 15 minutes.

Q.) Can you walk up to Table Mountain from Ashanti?
Not from Ashanti Green Point. You can always try Ashanti Gardens for a change of scenery though.

Q.) Do you have public transport in Cape Town?
There are cheap minibuses and Rikki taxis which are always an adventure. There is also a train running to some suburbs and towns nearby Cape Town.

Q.) What is the difference between a double room and a twin room?
A twin room will have two single beds whereas a double room has one double bed.

Q.) Can I book a campsite spot?
No. We don’t offer camping facilities at Ashanti Green Point.
